It was wicked to sit down with Black Fern Charmaine Smith. It's been a real rollercoaster ride this one! We talk at length about her relentless work rate and the ups and downs she has gone through to reach the pinnacle of the woman’s game to then have it all taken away from her in a heartbeat having to retire from the game medically. She has now risen from the dead in rugby terms. She finds herself back at the pinnacle of the woman’s game through dedication, grit, and a family that has her back all the way through.

It is mind blowing how much Eric Rush has achieved, and is still achieving in his life. He has found ultimate success in almost everything that he has set his mind to, from sporting successes, to business success. It’s easy to see that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, with his son Rob.  Hard work runs in the family. This is a wicked listen. Believe that!

Ross & Matty Wright- Couple Deep

The legendary Wright brothers and I sat next to the Kaipara river, with a crate of speights, a stone throw away from where the boys started their notorious rugby careers and got to the bottom of where it all began for the bros. With over 150 caps between them, for their beloved Northland Taniwha, they have become another set of brothers that will forever be a part of the Tanis folklore.  Wicked yarns in this one, so do yourself a favour and tune in.

Tony Johnson (Sky Sports commentator)- Couple Deep

Some blokes are just born for a certain profession in life. This is definitely the case for TJ! When I spent the day with him he could re-tell stories from many years ago as if we were actually right there, in the moment, never getting a name or memory wrong. This is a testament to his love for people and the game of rugby. With all his achievements and stories over his huge broadcasting career, his only request was that we make sure his Picton roots were mentioned. Dan Pryor- Couple Deep

When a hungover, dusty DP rolled up north as an injury replacement for the Northland Taniwha in 2010, little did he know he would  fast become one of the most noticeable and razzly forwards going around in New Zealand rugby. In-between becoming a certified Tanis legend and winning a super rugby title with the Highlanders, he followed in his grandfather Albie Pryor’s footsteps, donning the NZ Maori jersey along with his younger brother Kara Pryor. Anyone that knows DP, knows he’s got a knack for turning whatever situation he’s in into gold but with all the success he’s had you can feel that he’s never fully satisfied until he’s brought his bros with him. Whether that means faking an injury to get his brother Kara on the field or vouching for players to the coaches, he’s willing to do it.
